Scanlily Releases Major Upgrade with AI Inventory Features

Scanlily identifies books on a bookshelf as Hamlet by William Shakespeare and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin

Scanlily just released a new version of its app with AI inventory tools that are the first of their kind on the market. Here is an overview of its revolutionary new features!

AI and home organization

With Scanlily, you can inventory all of the items in a bookcase within a few minutes. Simply take a photo of one of the shelves, and the system will create a list of everything on that bookshelf. It will pull up each book’s author, publisher, genre, and other relevant information. You can review and edit the system’s description, and add any additional notes/photos/voice recordings to the description of each book. This process is faster than other available organizational tools, which require you to either type out the entire item name or scan each book individually.

This same technique works for cabinets, storage boxes, tool kits and more! Just take a photo of the inside of a container, and the AI will itemize everything it identifies in it.

You can easily create a whole house inventory in Scanlily– know what you have and where you have it!

Learn how to use this feature: Note that the multiple items from one image feature currently requires signing up to our Beta Program. Sign up here to receive multiple benefits besides this. The other AI features are available for non-Beta users.

Searching your inventory using Natural Language Processing

In its new update, Scanlily uses AI to help answer any question about your inventory.  For example, you can ask “what do I have that can clean a stain off of my carpet,” and the system will suggest helpful items that you have in your inventory (perhaps baking soda, dish soap, and a stain remover stick). You can ask for a “book about Elizabeth Bennett,” and Scanlily will pull up Pride and Prejudice and tell you where it is in your house. You don’t need to know the exact name of what you are looking for to find the object you need.

Searching your inventory by taking a photo

You can pull up any item in your Scanlily inventory that has a QR code sticker by simply scanning the code. The new version of Scanlily allows you to easily find your items regardless of whether it has a QR code sticker on it. You can find an item’s page in your inventory by simply taking a photo of your item, and AI will locate the items that look the most similar to it. This is helpful if you want to quickly pull up the notes about an item in your inventory or add reminders about an item.
